Is your life the way you want it? 

To have an amazing quality of life, you must have a strong personal foundation in place.  Life will throw you bends in the road and curves you don't want.  With a strong personal foundation, you can overcome these obstacles and challenges much more quickly.

The following is a sample to measure the strength of your personal foundation.  Essentially, it's a measure of your self-love and care.  Do you take care of yourself?  Do you have daily practices to build a strong foundation?  Are you taking charge of your life, or are life's circumstances and other people dictating your life?

The following is taken from the Clean Sweep™ program along with questions I've added.  Please check each answer that is really true.  Be brutally honest with yourself and only say "yes" if it's truly a permanent part of your life. 

Health

  • I rarely use caffeine (chocolate, coffee, colas, tea less than 3 times per week)

  • I consider my diet to be very healthy -- low sugar, low salt -- lots of veggies and fruits

  • I rarely drink alcohol (less than 2 drinks per week)

  • I do not smoke tobacco or other substances

  • I've had a cholesterol test in the past 12 months, and the count is healthful

  • I rarely watch television (less than 5 hours per week)

  • My blood pressure is healthful

  • I've had a complete physical exam in the last 3 years

  • My weight is within my ideal range

  • I walk or exercise at least three times per week

  • I am open to using alternative medicine, including chiropractic, acupuncture and massage

  • I drink at least 64 oz of water daily

Emotional Balance

  • I don't rush or use adrenaline to get the job done

  • I have a rewarding life beyond my work or profession

  • I consistently have adequate time, space and freedom in my life

  • I have something to look forward to virtually every day

  • I consistently take evenings, weekends and holidays off, and I take at least two weeks of vacation a year

  • I listen to motivational or personal growth tapes, seminars or videos monthly and/or I read at least one personal growth/motivational book per month

  • I'm a model for living a happy and balanced life

  • I take time to really see the beauty around me

  • My personal and work lives are not in conflict

Money and Finances

  • I currently save at least 10% of my income

  • I pay my bills on time

  • I know how much I must have to be minimally financially independent, and I have a plan to get there

  • I have returned or made good on any money I borrowed

  • I have 6 months' living expenses in savings or a money-market type account

  • All my tax returns have been filed, and all my taxes have been paid

  • I am on a career/professional/business track which is or will soon be financially and personally rewarding

  • My will is complete and up-to-date

  • I know my net worth

  • I currently live well, within my means

  • I keep accurate records of my personal and business expenses

  • I have a best friend or soul-mate

  • I get along well with my siblings

  • I have a good relationship with my parents (or I've made peace with their passing)

  • I put people first and results second

  • I have let go of the relationships which drag me down or damage me ("let go" means to end, walk away from, handle, no longer be attached to)

  • I have communicated or attempted to communicate with everyone whom I have damaged, injured or seriously disturbed, even if it wasn't fully my fault

  • I have a circle of friends/family who love and appreciate me for who I am, more than just what I do for them

  • I have fully forgiven those people who have hurt/damaged me, deliberate or not

  • I live my life on my terms, not by the rules or preferences of others

  • I do not take the things people say to me "personally"

  • I do not judge or criticize others

Physical environment

  • My personal files, papers and receipts are neatly filed away

  • My car is in excellent condition (doesn't need mechanical work, repairs, cleaning or replacing)

  • My home is neat and clean

  • My clothes are all pressed, clean and make me look great

  • I have nothing around my house or in storage I do not need

  • My work environment is productive and inspiring

  • I am consistently early or easily on time

  • I live in a home/apartment that I love

  • People feel comfortable in my home

Obviously, the higher your score, the stronger your personal foundation and the more you'll be able to handle the things that come up in life.  With a higher score, you'll have:
